We all make mistakes, you can have a typo, use a Broken Hashtag, or simply want to remove a caption or comment, check out how to solve it.
At the time when this article was written Instagram did not allow any edits to the captions or comments. The best solution was to delete that comment or caption and write a new one.
Below are the steps for iOS and Android devices (Option not available for Windows Phones yet)
1- Go to your photo
2- Below the photo, tap Comment if you are using an iOS device or the comment icon if you are using Android device.
3- If you are using an iOS device swipe left over the comment you want to remove. If you are using Android device tap the comment you want to delete.
4- If you are using an iOS device tap the red bin and select whether you want to Delete or Delete and Report Abuse. If you are using an Android device choose from the pop up that appears if you want to Delete Comment or Delete Comment and Report Abuse.
You can now add an adjusted comment or caption.
Note that the comment will no longer appear right below the photo you shared, it will appear in the list of comments after the last comment. If you are lucky enough and made the change before anyone else has commented on your photo, you won’t have to worry about it then.
Today, the situation is different. You can edit your caption and edit your comments. You can even reply to comments directly under the post or via a direct message. Instagram has experienced a lot of updates especially after Meta purchased it. You can edit your caption by tapping on the three dots and edit the post.
Note that if you are using Meta Business Suite app on Android or iOS, you can also edit Instagram posts directly from the app.
