The friendly welcome tops it all. Dr. Nada Alaaeddine and the staff welcomed me and answer all the questions I had. Before entering to my appointment I was guided to a relaxing saloon, then shortly to the room where the treatment was offered.

I will dedicate this blog post to talk about the Stem Cell Banking service offered by Innovi. A very long time ago, a friend of mine was having a baby and was so overwhelmed researching a Stem Cell Bank in the area, because he wanted to store the umbilical cord blood of his future born for future use. For a second I felt like he was speaking Chinese. He said that doing so can save his child’s life if, God forbids, anything bad happens to him. I was happy to hear that, that is quite an achievement in science. However, there was something that annoyed him a lot, there was no bank in Lebanon. He had two solutions, his wife will travel, give birth outside Lebanon and store the stem cells in the destination country, or his wife will give birth in Lebanon and have the stem cells transported to their international destination. Transported stem cells will result in decreasing the number of stem cells that will survive. In transplant medicine, having more stem cells can improve medical outcomes, including faster recovery and fewer complications.
What Are Stem Cells?

Stem cells from bone marrow were first used to regenerate blood and immune cells for patients who had received chemotherapy for cancer. In the late 1980s, doctors started using cord blood stem cells to treat diseases that had previously been treated with bone marrow transplantation.
Today, cord blood stem cells are successfully being used to save lives.
