How long should a blog post be and how many times should I post? Find out more here in this post.
I was once asked “should I write two blog posts a month of 750 words each or four blog posts a month of 350 words each?”
Now ask yourself this question, which blog post will you read? A blog post of 750 words or a blog post of 350 words?
The answer is definitely a blog post of 350 words. What a relief right?
So why is it better to write shorter blog posts or spread your content over short blog posts? Today, readers have access to a lot of information online. Readers are attracted to short, straight to the point content that answers their questions in a simple and clear way.
Be brief, write your content in bullet points whenever you can and use paragraphs. Write 300 words – 350 words because search engines start indexing your page when it has more than 300 words.
Another great thing about writing four posts a month instead of two, is that you are posting more frequently and consistently and sharing more information. This will help you become more visible on search engines and attract loyal readers.
When to publish them? Schedule a post each week. Ideally during the weekend and late afternoon, or check your blog analytics to determine when your readers are most active. This can vary from one blogger to another.
How to keep the flow? Prepare a monthly plan with four main titles. Repeat each month. It will be ideal if you plan one month ahead. You will have more time to write the articles and schedule them.
TIP: If you find it difficult to write short content here is a tip for you. Write the full article and categorize your content with headlines. You can publish it in two parts, this will also create more engagement and loyalty. Readers will look forward to reading the rest of your article when you publish it next.
